One of the great breakfast places in Newark is Newark Deli and Bagels. A fixture on Main St. since replacing Rhodes Pharmacy, Newark Deli and Bagels features fresh baked bagels, gourmet flavored cream cheeses and great sandwiches. You will usually find a line at Newark Deli and Bagels during popular breakfast times but you can call and order ahead or place your order on their website.
Although occasionally we have been able to grab a table, most of the time it is too busy and we need to do takeout. The service is always excellent in spite of how busy they are. With a large selection of fresh bagels from blueberry to Sun dried tomato, Newark Deli and Bagels has a bagel for just about everyone.
Although most people stop by for the great fresh bagels, Newark Deli and Bagels also features all types of deli sandwiches from roast beef to chicken cheese steaks. You should also consider them for lunch or dinner. You should get there early enough though, because they do close at 5 every night.
