Smyrna Delaware is a town in New Castle County and Kent county Delaware. Originally named Salisbury and known to inhabitants as Duck Creek, Smyrna was settled prior to the American Revolution. In 1806, the Delaware Assembly changed the town name to Smyrna. Smyrna Delaware has experienced rapid growth in recent years.
The entertainment and employment opportunities of a major metropolitan area are roughly about 90 minutes to Philadelphia or Baltimore. State Parks, county parks and even smaller community parks are within walking or biking distance of virtually every residence.
