Newark Community Day 2018
On Sunday September 15th, 2019 from 11-4, the City of Newark will once again host community day. Community day is a wonderful fall festival full of foods, activities, and homemade crafts( Rain Date is September 22th).
The City of Newark hosts an annual event known as community day. One of the best festivals of the fall, Community Day features fun activities, music, lot's of food, and arts and crafts.
This is the 47th annual Newark Community Day
Location: Delaware Avenue and the University of Delaware Green

Annually more than 280 vendors have signed up to attend.
What is Newark Delaware Community Day
Local businesses and non-profit organizations gather on the Green to highlight their organizations and engage the public. They provide attendees with information about their mission, activities, volunteer opportunities, and more.
Fine artists, crafters, and retail businesses will be selling their products throughout the day.
There are lots of vendors displaying all different types of items for sale, as well as informational booths. Some Main Street restaurants normally offer dining specials. In addition, there is a food court with plenty of different foods to choose from.The children’s area will feature games and activities at a pint-sized price in addition to our very popular scarecrow making.
The event attracts crowds estimated at 10,000. The vendors are upwards of 200 and include local businesses, non-profit organizations, community, politcal and university groups. There are usually 3 stages set up all featuring live music and other performances.
The event is hosted by Newark Parks and Recreation, in cooperation with the University of Delaware, Downtown Newark Partnership and the Christina School District. Community Day is held on the Green at the University of Delaware. There are usually musicians and entertainment available so it makes for an enjoyable Sunday Afternoon.
